Why Do High-class People Don’t Follow Fashion Trends, But Instead Have A Timeless, Classy Fasion?

by adminmea on November 19, 2009

I’m talking about people with old money, with estates and titles. People who send their children to prestigious independent schools like Eton College and Roedean.
If you see them, they never follow fashion trends, but look like they did back in the WWII and very classy looking style, wearing primary colours like black, gray, white, cream, etc.
On my last question people provided examples of a character from the TV show ‘Gossip Girl’, Blair Waldorf, but that’s not what I mean by high class. She’s more of the rich-type, who has to follow trends.
I’m talking more conservative, from a high class family.
Not just billionaires rich to boot.

Some of these people are rich BECAUSE they are conservative with their money. They are not out blowing their cash on the latest fashion trends.. instead they invest wisely, and make wise decisions on their purchases.. they buy clothing that looks nice, but is functional (most trendy clothes are just that, nothing functional about them!). They choose clothing that may last them for a few years, instead of some thousand dollar outfit that is worn once.

Because classy, old money people don’t feel the need to show their money (everyone knows they have it) in fact they are usually somewhat embarassed by it. Low income earners and people with ‘new money’ are the people more liekly to follow trends in fashion.
